George III Library Table LT30

 

A hand made copy of a solid oak George III Library Table circa 1755, copy, from which "On this table King Edward VIII signed the Instrument of Abdication10.30am on December 10th 1936. Rectangular leather inset top with gadrooned border, three solid oak hand dovetailed drawers and the short sides each with one small and one dummy drawer on square chamfered legs worked with ogee lozenges headed by pierced brackets. The original was sold by Sotheby's in 1997.
